Welcome to After the Credits, this website is focused on providing various reactions and reviews to the world of entertainment both in a historical and a modern context.

As an avid fan of both film and television I have chosen to establish this blog with the intent of sharing my personal perspective regarding the landscape of the moving pictures both on the small and big screen.

I feel that it is necessary at this point to establish the boundaries upon which I evaluate films. In order to express my appreciation of films I will rate movies on a scale of 1 to 10 as used on the website IMDB. There are two distinct ways that I feel a movie can be successful in that there are both good and enjoyable movies. By only acknowledging those films which are executed well in a conventional sense of the word as worthy of praise one would fail to acknowledge why many of the most popular films throughout history have been critically tarnished such as Sharknado.

Below I will list and briefly state what a score between 1 and 10 would generally specify about a particular film/TV show.

1 - A film never finds a consistent narrative and is wholly without any entertainment value and is a slog to endure.
2 - The odd moment here or there keeping the film from being entirely without any entertainment value.
3 - The good elements of the film are overshadowed by the mistakes. Often a boring film with little rewatch value or any lasting impact of any caliber.
4 - Moving toward a consistent plot with glimpses of a technically impressive film.
5 - Moments of greatness mixed with scenes which should have been left out.
6 - Either an ambitious film with plot/production mistakes or an enjoyable yet goofy movie.
7 - A solid movie without plot holes.
8 - Consistent plot, enjoyable, not boring yet not perfect.
9 - A near perfect movie with a one or two plot inconsistencies/production mistakes which can not be overlooked.
10 - Either perfect in the technical sense with a consistent plot or a film so enjoyable that the flaws are forgotten.
